Part of McGregor Boulevard will be closed starting Monday, July 8, as crews begin work on paving the road.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department , the closure will stretch from Llewellyn Drive to Larchmont Avenue. The work is expected to happen Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
FMPD said the project is expected to be completed by the fall and pedestrian sidewalks will not be impacted.
The east and northbound traffic detours will send drivers off McGregor at Linhart Avenue, continuing to Cortez Boulevard, Monte Vista Street, Marilyn Road/Euclid Avenue and Illinois Avenue before returning to McGregor.
As for the west and southbound detours, traffic will be redirected at Virginia Avenue, continuing to Euclid Avenue/Marilyn Road, Monte Vista Street, Cortez Boulevard, Linhart Avenue and back to McGregor Boulevard.
