Authorities stopped a runaway boat circling near the Sanibel Causeway on Saturday. The driver of the boat was reportedly ejected into the water after a crash with another vessel.
The Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Sanibel Police Department, TowBoatUS and Sea Tow responded to the incident.
First responders used float ropes to stall out the motor and stop the boat from going in circles, LCSO said.
Officials say there were no injuries.
FWC is leading the investigation at this time.
