It has been four weeks since the complete closure of the Caloosahatchee River Bridge, with six weeks remaining.
The Florida Department of Transportation and Lee County are working to keep the public informed about delays and detours.
They are also adjusting traffic signal timings to alleviate congestion over the next month and a half.
This full bridge closure is important for completing the project one year and four months ahead of schedule.
The work accomplished in the past four weeks has advanced the project by 212 days, according to FDOT.
During this period, crews have demolished and replaced most of the median bridge deck.
A new traffic rail rebar has been installed, as well as northbound guardrail posts. Most concrete pours are about finished.
