Lee County deputies responded to a home on Punta Atla Court in Lehigh Acres for reports of an active burglary.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, the victim was able to get out of the home with a child to a neighbor's house.
The first units on the scene reported hearing gunshots coming from the rear of the residence. Deputies reportedly established a perimeter around the residence.
Multiple deputies, along with a chopper, drone and K9 units, were on the scene, according to reports.
The suspect reportedly exited the residence and was taken into custody.
LCSO has not shared the suspect's identity at this point.
This is an active investigation. NBC2 is working to determine whether anyone has been taken into custody at this time.
