Lee County deputies saved baby sea turtles from a sewage drain at Bonita Beach on Wednesday.
Once deputies arrived, they say they learned the babies were on the beach and became disoriented from lights that were left on, causing them to walk away from the water and fall into a sewage drain.
Deputies held the sewer drain open and used tools to pull each one out. A total of 15 turtles were rescued, cleaned and monitored by members of Turtle Time.
Turtle Time invited deputies back to the beach to assist with their release, where they say all of them made it to the ocean safely.
