The Federal Emergency Management Agency confirmed there would be no announcement or update on whether or not more than 100,000 homeowners will have access to their flood insurance discounts.
Earlier this year, the agency stripped Cape Coral, Estero, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers Beach and unincorporated Lee County of their 25% flood insurance discounts.
FEMA claimed the cities allowed homeowners to bypass federal rebuilding rules after Hurricane Ian.
There was a June 10 deadline for each municipality to get the correct paperwork to FEMA, which they all did.
On Wednesday, which was supposed to be FEMA's deadline for their decision, they gave no indication when or even if it would return the flood insurance discounts.
If this is not resolved, you could be paying the full price for flood insurance come Oct. 1.
