Police are investigating after a late-night crash involving a semi-truck in Fort Myers.
The crash happened along SR-82 at Colonial Boulevard around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday.
NBC2 crews on the scene said police found one of the passengers lying underneath a bench 1,000 feet away from the crash site.
Reports say he was questioned and taken to the hospital.
Firefighters cleared the roadway of debris and an oil spill. The crash involved four vehicles in total.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, a woman and child were in the sleeper portion of the semi and thrown to the front of the vehicle.
They had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, police said.
The road reopened around 5 a.m.
Fort Myers police said this is being investigated as a hit-and-run crash.
According to FMPD, they are searching for a male who was driving a black Dodge pickup truck that crashed into the semi-truck.
Investigators said the male fled on foot towards a nearby Publix.
The passenger reportedly told police he was "sleeping when the crash happened, woke up and got scared and ran."
