An Arcadia man was arrested for DUI manslaughter in connection to a rollover crash on State Road 31 that killed a man Friday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Alejandro Sanchez Maqueda, 37, was driving an SUV north on SR-31, south of SE. North Hog Bay Extension.
At around 10:54 p.m., Sanchez Maqueda drove onto the southbound lane and crashed into an oncoming SUV. Both vehicles reportedly flipped over in the collision.
The driver of the SUV that was hit, an unidentified man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sanchez Maqueda faces charges of DUI manslaughter and two counts of DUI property damage. He was taken to the DeSoto County Jail, FHP said.
