A Bradenton man died after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the street near U.S.-41 and 51st Avenue Drive West in Manatee County.
The crash happened around 10:37 p.m. on Saturday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old man from Sarasota, was traveling south on U.S.-41 in the left lane.
The 45-year-old Bradenton man attempted to cross the southbound lanes of U.S.-41 and entered the path of the vehicle, troopers said.
The man was hit by the front of the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene.
According to FHP, the driver suffered minor injuries and the crash is under investigation.
