Double-murderer Wade Wilson has received almost 4,000 messages since the day he was convicted of murdering two Cape Coral women.
The jury recommended the death penalty on Tuesday, June 15, and since then, some of the messages seem to be asking for the same thing - a chance at life in prison.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, since June 12, Wilson has been sent; 754 photos (163 were rejected), 3,903 messages, accepted 279 connection requests and 65 posts in the mail.
The sheriff's office says the photos were rejected due to their inappropriate nature.
People have also written to the judge overseeing the trial, asking for the Honorable Nicholas Thompson to choose life in prison over death.
The letters are from those who know Wilson, mothers and people who feel as though he would benefit from life in prison over death.
People explain how they believe Wilson should be given the option of rehabilitation and repentance instead of death.
Moving forward, the judge will ultimately make his decision on life or death, despite the jury's recommendation, on July 23.
