The day has finally come for the doors to open at the all-new Cape Coral Fire Station 13. The ceremony is set to kick off Wednesday at 9 a.m.
NBC2 has been told that everyone from city leaders to first responders and more will be in attendance for the ceremony.
Cape Fire broke ground on the land on Northeast Sixth Street in early 2023.
Acting Fire Chief Michael Russel says as Cape Coral continues to grow, this additional service was necessary to match the influx and this new facility will improve response times.
This station will house a four-person fire engine that provides suppression and advanced life support services, a battalion chief and much more.
The new station will be taking over parts of the city that were previously covered by stations two and five.
