There was a lot of hugging, crying and praying inside the North Fort Myers High School's auditorium Wednesday night during Isaac Breese's memorial.
Friends, family, coaches, teammates, and all those who loved Breese showed up in fluorescent colors and soccer jerseys, as the Breese family requested.
The auditorium was filled with people. Several people spoke, including several of his teammates, his North Fort Myers High School coach, his best friend, and his sister, Gabby.
His coach called him a BFG, or a Big Friendly Giant. He also said he was dynamic, passionate and loving.
"Daily, I would observe Isaac surrounded, typically the center of that companion," the coach said.
Everyone in the room said Breese was an extremely talented goalie who played soccer for DBR Goalkeeper Academy, Florida West FC and North Fort Myers High School.
The 17-year-old's life was taken too soon when he was swept into the gulf and drowned off the coast of Blind Pass Beach on July 2. Sanibel police and other teams began search and rescue immediately. Search and recovery began July 4. That day, a private drone pilot, David Cressman, found him.
Isaac's coach said he will be remembered for all of his days.
"With his loss through the morning, with the crying, with the hugs, laughter, without tears, for the stories, with the memories and respect the values Isaac Breese throughout the rest of our days," he said.
Isaac's best friend, Joshua, told the crowd Isaac gives him confidence.
"We met at a time when I wasn't very confident in myself, and all the time we spent together is the reason I can come up here and give you guys this speech," Joshua said.
At the end of the service, a lot of people gathered in the front of the auditorium to write a note about Isaac in a book the family put out.
