Wade Wilson's attorney filed a motion to delay his sentencing which was approved on Friday.
The previous sentencing, scheduled for Juy 23, has been postponed to Aug. 27.
Wilson was convicted for the murders of two Cape Coral women, Diane Ruiz and Kristine Melton.
According to court documents, Wilson's attorney said two mental health experts who were appointed by the court to examine Wilson were not given enough time to change their schedules.
It was said in court that Wilson needs to have an MRI conducted.
The jury recommended Wilson be sentenced to death on June 15.
The judge overseeing Wilson's trial also received letters asking for Wilson to be sentenced to life in prison instead of the death penalty.
