Farm Share went out to North Fort Myers Saturday to give out 500 hurricane supply kits.
The kits had non-perishable foods, a can opener, water, socks, toiletries, reusable bags and bug spray.
Farm Share is Florida’s largest independent food bank. They said after Hurricane Ian, they want to make sure Southwest Florida is prepared if another storm hits.
Ciara Cancino, the director of development and community outreach for Farm Share said, “We still remember the devastation of what happened over two years ago. And so, this year we partnered with Global Empowerment Mission, as well as the Lee County Emergency Management Office, so that we have brochures and information as well, so that we could give to the community.”
People also grabbed pet supply kits. Those included pet food, shampoo and waste bags.
