An Immokalee felon was sentenced to eight years in prison for multiple felony drug and gun-related charges.
According to court documents, on Aug. 4, 2023, Collier County deputies got a search warrant for 46-year-old Javier Joel Perez's Immokalee home on Taylor Street. They located the following items inside the residence:
- Methamphetamine — 29.5 grams
- Cocaine — 8.8 grams
- Marijuana — 1,733 grams
- Loaded semi-automatic rifle
The drugs were reportedly packaged for sale.
Perez, a nine-time convicted felon, was arrested after he told deputies that the items located in his home belonged to him.
Perez was sentenced for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute it, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possession of a firearm and ammunition as a convicted felon. He pleaded guilty on Feb. 21.
