A Lake County boating accident left one woman dead on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Around 1:30 p.m., FWC says officers responded to an incident involving a pontoon boat on the Ocklawaha River near Nelson's Fish Camp.
There were eight people on board, FWC said, including an adult female who went overboard during the accident. She suffered injuries from the propeller and was pronounced deceased as she was being taken to the hospital.
The FWC did not have more information immediately available as officials say this is still an active investigation.
"The FWC expresses their deepest condolences to the victim's loved ones," officials said in a statement.
