The NBC2 First Alert Storm Team has issued a Severe Weather First Alert for Southwest Florida on Tuesday.
Localized flooding will be the primary threat as we track widespread rain and storms during the afternoon.

The reason our rain chances will be higher than normal again today is that we have more tropical moisture drifting over South Florida.
Since the ground is still pretty soggy for many neighborhoods, even just 1-2" of additional rainfall could lead to flooded roads and yards.
Most of the rain will arrive during the afternoon Tuesday, but a few showers could form before the lunch hour.
The heat won't be as big of an issue today thanks to the clouds and rain developing this afternoon, but temperatures will still be toasty, with highs in the lower 90s.
Rainfall amounts will range from 1-2", but a few areas could see pockets over 3".
The rain will lighten up and gradually fade away this evening, leaving us with drier weather overnight as temperatures settle into the mid-to-upper 70s.
We won't have as much tropical moisture around from Wednesday through the upcoming weekend, so expect a more typical summertime pattern, with morning sunshine, highs in the mid-90s, and scattered afternoon storms.
