We'll start our Tuesday with some sunshine, but widespread storms will develop and spread across the area as we head into the afternoon.
Temperatures this morning are running a bit above average, settling into the middle and upper 70s as we approach sunrise. By the early afternoon, highs will reach the lower 90s, with 'feels like' numbers in the triple digits.
Look for storms to develop by the early afternoon, becoming widespread by 4 p.m. A few storms will be strong, packing torrential rain, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and brief gusty winds.
Localized flooding will be possible in some of the heavier, slower-moving storms as well, so be careful on the roads during the evening commute! Storms should come to an end around sunset, giving way to clearing skies overnight.
The rest of the week will feature classic rainy season weather, with dry morning, scattered afternoon storms, and highs in the low 90s.

There are no active storms in the Atlantic Basin, and no tropical development is expected over the next 7 days.
