A cleaning lady's discovery led Lee County deputies to a missing teenager who was hiding out in someone else's home in Lehigh Acres.
The owners of the house on Chrysler Street E found their rental house with the window shattered, various holes in each wall, doors removed from hinges, numerous lightbulbs and lamp covers shattered, and the stove and microwave removed from the kitchen and broken.
LCSO says the damages done to the home while the teen was camping out there are estimated at $45,000.
Deputies arrested Landon Brown Tuesday on the same street and charged with damages and for breaking in. LCSO says Brown left a pair of blue jeans and his cell phone charging in the home.
The owners of the house told NBC2 the house was vacant when Brown broke in because they were getting ready for new tenants. They say the cleaning lady noticed the fractured window and knew something wasn't right.
She helped the property owners call 911.
While the owners say they don't know the suspect, NBC2 talked to a neighbor on the street who was friends with Brown. He said he's a troubled kid going through a hard time.
The homeowners tell us they are very thankful to the Lee County Sheriff for arriving there as quickly as they did.
