The City of Punta Gorda announced it is adjusting trash collection hours temporarily due to excessive heat.
Beginning on Tuesday, July 30, Punta Gorda is asking residents to set their trash and yard waste containers on the curb by 5 a.m. or the evening before the scheduled pickup date.
This allows staff to begin collecting the trash and yard waste on hour earlier than normal to avoid the afternoon heat.
