Saturday marks the first full day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
There are several medal matches on the line, and high-profile rivalries will play out on the national stage. There are a total of 14 medal events on the first full day of competition.

Team USA's Brody Malone overcomes devastating injury for second Olympic berth
- U.S. Women's Gymnastics has won a medal in the Team All-Around competition in eight straight Olympics. However, the U.S. Men haven't brought how any hardware in the team event since 2008. The Stars and Stripes will try to change that this summer in Paris, led by Sarasota-based gymnast Brody Malone.
Stephen Nedoroscik ready to make history with U.S. Olympics men's gymnastics in Paris
- The U.S. Men's Gymnastics team took off for Paris on Thursday. This summer, they are looking for their first gold medal since 1984. Two of the gymnasts have been training at EVO Gymnastics in Sarasota, Florida: one of which is the best pommel horse athlete in the world — Stephen Nedoroscik.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
SWIMMING | United States' Katie Ledecky will go for gold in the 400m freestyle. It's speculated to be a four-way battle for the gold between Ledecky, Ariarne Titmus (Australia), Summer McIntosh (Canada) and Erika Fairweather (New Zealand). It's one of four swimming finals on Saturday afternoon, including freestyle relays for both the men and the women -- both of which project Team USA on the podium. SKATEBOARDING (RESCHEDULED) | There is also gold to be won in the men's street skateboarding final. Nyjah Huston of Team USA will face challenges from both Yuto Horigome (Japan) and Aurélien Giraud (France) in a contested battle for the podium. DIVING | U.S. divers Kassidy Cook and Sarah Bacon – collectively known as Cook'N'Bacon – are looking to podium in the 3-meter synchronized springboard event. FENCING | Harvard fencer Eli Dershwitz is already a world champion in sabre. Now, he hopes to make history. Only three Americans have ever won Olympic gold in fencing – but none have won in men's sabre. Dershwitz hopes to be the first. BEACH VOLLEYBALL | Beach volleyball gets underway with both U.S. teams competing on Saturday. On the men’s side, Miles Partain and Andrew Benesh take on Cuba’s Noslen Diaz and Jorge Alayo live at 8 a.m. ET while the U.S. women’s duo of Kristen Nuss and Taryn Kloth face Canada’s Heather Bansley and Sophie Bukovec at 4 p.m. ET . The defending Olympic gold medalist U.S. women have won four of the last five Olympic tournaments.
HOW TO WATCH SATURDAY: BROADCAST COVERAGE
Cable, satellite and even classic over-the-air audiences will be able to easily find Olympic programming on TV. On each day of the Olympics, NBC will have, at minimum, nine hours of live event coverage, starting each morning and continuing through the afternoon.
