After a period of quietness in the Atlantic, primarily due to Saharan dust, we are starting to see our first signs of the tropical season waking up.
The National Hurricane Center notes that an area of disturbed weather that will interact with a tropical wave located nearly 1,100 miles from the Lesser Antilles has a moderate chance of developing in the next seven days. The wave is currently moving to the west-northwest.
The wave is currently pegged at a 40% chance for development in the coming seven days. Any development would likely not occur until the middle of next week as the wave approached the Lesser Antilles.
