It's been eight weeks since the Caloosahatchee Bridge closed, forcing people to find other ways in and out of Fort Myers.
The Florida Department of Transportation said it is on schedule, and the bridge should reopen within the next two weeks.
The bridge is closed as crews work to install a new sidewalk across the bridge.
Crews have finished replacing the bridge deck and constructed 90% of the median barrier wall so far.
FDOT said they are almost done installing the guardrails on the northbound side.
The bridge will remain closed through Aug. 11, according to FDOT.
After that, it will reopen with nighttime bridge closures and daytime lane closures.
FDOT is adjusting traffic signal timings in order to help with congestion over the next two weeks.
