Fort Myers Fire Department battled heavy flames and smoke in a house on Chesapeake Bay Drive early Wednesday morning.
Around 10:50 a.m., FMPD crews - along with San Carlos Park Fire Department and South Trail Fire District - responded to 10094 Chesapeake Bay Drive for reports of a structure fire.
When crews arrived they found heavy smoke with flames coming from the garage area and extending to the second story of the home.
Crews immediately started attacking the fire, pulling a hose line and putting water on the flames.
Crews say they searched the house and all occupants made it out safely.
Reports say the fire was put out and crews found and extinguished additional hotspots.
There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire was determined to be lithium-ion batteries found in the garage.
