A dump truck was stolen from Sanctus Trucking on Metro Parkway in Fort Myers early Tuesday morning.
The owner wonders if someone knew where they kept the spare key. They say the search for the $100,000 truck has been a wild ride.
“Nerve-wracking and scary because it's a really expensive investment, and we worked really hard to get the trucks we have for brand new. We opened in February of this year and, a couple of months, and we're doing well for ourselves, so to be taking this at it's drastic for us,” said owner Olessia Salmeron.
Salmeron tracked down the giant red Kenworth truck from Fort Myers to Miami after looking up her Sunpass transactions.
“Went straight down to Miami, and the cool down period waited and then transferred it. Transported it again at 3 in the morning,” Salmeron said.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said they’re reviewing surveillance video, canvassing and interviewing people involved.
Salmeron is offering a $5,000 reward to whoever finds the truck. If you have any information, contact LCSO.
