The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Tracking team continues to monitor the movement of what is now Tropical Storm Debby in northern Florida.
Earlier today, Debby made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane near Steinhatchee, Florida with winds near 80 mph.
Though the storm's intensity is weaker than when it was over water, northern Florida is still under threat for storm surge flooding, spin-up tornadoes and heavy rain.

Here in Southwest Florida, the worst of the storm is behind us as Debby is pulling further to the north.
The threat of severe weather with these bands is much less than what we experienced on Sunday, but it is always important to have a way to receive alerts.

Locally in our area, a Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for all of Southwest Florida's coast through Tuesday. High tide cycles could run as much as 1-3 feet above normal levels today.
Through the rest of the week, excessive runoff from rain north of our area may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Because of this, a Flood Watch is active for Lee, Charlotte, and Desoto Counties through 8 p.m. Monday.
Over the next two days, an additional 1-3" of rain will be possible across Southwest Florida.
