As of 7 a.m. on Monday, Hurricane Debby officially made landfall over Florida's Big Bend near Steinhatchee.
Debby made landfall as a category 1 storm with winds at 80 mph. The storm is pushing a life-threatening surge into Florida's Big Bend where up to 6-10 of water is expected to rush in with the onshore winds.

Here in Southwest Florida, the worst of the storm is behind us as Debby is pulling further to the north.
The threat of severe weather with these bands is much less than what we experienced today, but it is always important to have a way to receive alerts.

Although the bulk of the strongest part of the system is off to our north, we will continue to see onshore winds and a few feeder bands through the day on Monday. This onshore wind could also amplify some of our high tides leading to coastal flooding, again these rises in tides will be much lower than Sunday.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for all of Southwest Florida through Tuesday. Water levels could rise 1-3 above normal high today.
Flooding
With rain bands calming down tonight we are seeing some of that water recede. However, we have seen some impressive rain totals ranging on average 4-6 inches along the coast with some isolated areas 7+ inches.
Over the next two days, an additional 1-3" of rain will be possible across Southwest Florida.
In the coming days, excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Any additional rain can cause a quick concern so keep an eye out for additional flooding.
