The NBC2 First Alert Hurricane Team is monitoring a new tropical wave near the Windward Islands moving west into the Caribbean Sea.
Showers and thunderstorms associated with the tropical wave look less organized than Sunday, but gradual tropical development is possible later this week as the disturbance moves into the western Caribbean.
The National Hurricane Center gives the disturbance a 10% chance to develop in the next two days and a 30% chance in the next seven days.
If a tropical system manages to develop, computer forecast models suggest it would move toward Central America.
The next storm name on the list is Ernesto.
