Tests are being done for the pumps at a Cape Coral 7-Eleven gas station along Pine Island Road near Santa Barbara Boulevard.
Crews went out to the gas station after several complaints about bad gas. Several people say they got gas at the pumps and immediately after leaving their cars began to break down on them.
Gabrielle Monique lives just a few miles away from the gas station, she knew right away something was wrong after getting gas.
"I thought, 'Oh, I must’ve left a light on or a battery, then I just drove home, which was about five to 10 minutes away, and, on the way home, it was driving weird," Monique said.
She says she didn’t move her car that night but the next morning she knew something was severely wrong when her car started shaking.
A similar experience also happened to another Cape Coral resident, Louis Torchia.
"The truck basically less than a mile down the road after filling up $40 of gas quit. So once we took it apart this morning, and I looked at it, I took the gas out, and it had about a quarter inch to an eighth of an inch of water floating on the top," Torchia said.
Louis said he also thought it was just something wrong with a car part and spent $470 on a new carbonator. It wasn't long until he realized it was actually bad gas from a Facebook post stating the same problem.
Louis said he was thankful he had saved his receipt because now he had the proof.
This afternoon, the Department of Agriculture tested each of the pumps.
They say the results will be back mid-next week.
ABC7 spoke to The Department of Agriculture, they say so far they’ve only gotten two complaints.
Louis repaired his car himself, but Monique is worried her car may never start again.
