Two men were arrested after they reportedly threatened each other with firearms during a road rage confrontation in Fort Myers Saturday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 9:43 a.m., troopers investigated the incident on I-75 at mile marker 133.
The investigation determined that two vehicles were involved in highway violence: a pickup truck driven by Jacob Poleski, 43, and a sedan with a 16-year-old and 5-year-old in the back seat, driven by Jeremy Collier, 39.
Poleski told troopers he became upset and threw a metal tumbler with coffee into an open back window of a sedan that cut his truck off while driving on Colonial Boulevard. Collier said that Poleski brandished a firearm through his truck window.
Collier followed Poleski to a Wawa Gas Station on Colonial Boulevard. Collier got out of his vehicle with a firearm to confront Poleski. Poleski got back in his truck and headed south on Interstate 75 as the pursuit continued.
Inside the sedan, troopers found a firearm and the tumbler. Collier's children had spilled coffee on their skin and clothes.
Troopers discovered a firearm with a laser attachment in Poleski's truck.
Collier, of Lehigh Acres, and Poleski, of Cape Coral, face charges of improper exhibit of a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Additionally, Poleski was booked on three counts of battery.
