Former Cape Coral City Councilwoman Patty Cummings pleaded guilty to three charges including fraudulent application for a driver's license and two counts of false swearing-in with voting of elections.
Cummings won the seat for Cape Coral City Council District 4 back in November of 2022. An investigator hired by the City of Cape Coral stated she was not living there when she ran — and did not live in District 4 until March 2023.
Following a plea deal, Cummings is subject to 24 months of probation which is set to begin on Monday.
According to reports, Cummings is responsible for the cost of court, prosecution and the investigation.
Cummings will not be able to run for or hold a position in office while she is on probation. She will be able to request an end of probation after 12 months.
It was also noted in court that Cummings has stage 3 lung cancer.
