Cape Coral police arrested a man following a traffic stop after finding 81.7 grams of fentanyl in the car.
Javario Barron, 54, was reportedly pulled over around 9:40 p.m. on Monday on Cape Coral parkway E.
Officers say they approached Barron and they smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the car and they observed smoke in the vehicle. Reports say there was a burnt blunt in the cupholder.
Barron was asked to exit the vehicle. Officers say they searched the car and found a Coach belt with $400 cash in $20 denominations.
Officers say they also found multiple prescription pill bottles with a name/label that did not belong to anyone in the vehicle.
One unlabeled orange bottle was found in the glove box which reportedly had 86 white tablets with the marking "I 10" which is usually indicated on ibuprofen.
The pills were said to not be consistent with typical pharmacy marking and they had a powdery composition.
Officers say the pills were tested and they were reportedly positive for the presence of fentanyl. Officers say the fentanyl weighed a total of 81.7 grams.
Barron was arrested and taken to the Lee County Jail where he is facing charges of one count of trafficking fentanyl four grams or more and one count of possession of narcotic equipment.
