Several Beattie Construction vehicles are parked at the company's warehouse on East Industrial Circle, off Pondella Road. Cape Coral Police Department raided the construction company and many are left with unfinished homes.
The door to the warehouse was locked, but on it there is a notice the landlord posted on Tuesday for the company's owner Paul Beattie to pay rent.
We asked businesses in the area if they had seen anything and they refused to comment.
Last week Cape Coral police raided Beattie's office on SE 47th Street, removing boxes of files.
Since then several customers told NBC2 Beattie owes them hundreds of thousands of dollars for unfinished homes and unpaid jobs.
We called the company again today but the number is out of service.
A statement from the company's lawyer Simon Gaugush said, "We have offered to cooperate in the government’s ongoing investigation regarding the company’s inability to commence or finish a number of building projects. We expect this investigation will conclude with a favorable resolution for Paul Beattie and the company.”
