New faces and some familiar faces are moving in this week at Florida Gulf Coast University.
It’s been hot and busy on campus as students and their families help them move in.
Everyone is in good spirits and looking forward to the school year ahead.
The Assistant Vice President of University Housing & Resident Life says there are over 108 resident assistants around to help. This year their dorm halls are at 100 percent occupancy.
Housing staff and resident assistants say they know how important it is to make each family and student feel welcomed and find their place at the university.
Many families were there to support and help their kids for the big day. Some parents say it's a mix of happy and sad feelings as they get ready to send their kids off to start a new chapter.
Students will be moving in throughout the week and weekend. As of now, the university expects around 4,757 students to live on campus this semester, but this number can change daily.
