Get ready for some leaping lizards. It's World Lizard Day!
There are more than 7,000 species of lizards around the world, except in Antarctica.
And at the IMAG History & Science Center, they have some reptilian friends for you to meet. Ranging in size from a few centimeters (like geckos and chameleons) to 3 meters long (like the Komodo Dragon, which can grow to nearly 10 feet in length), some lizards are closely related to snakes. Our reptilian friends typically have rounded lizard torsos, four lizard limbs (although some are legless), long tails, and elevated heads on short necks.
