The Chapel on the Bay vacation home docked on Fort Myers Beach for a quick visit before shipping off Friday morning.
Gary Foco, the general manager of Moss Marina, has seen his fair share of wild things near the water, but now he will never forget this phone call.
"Well, the chapel came in and my dock called me and asked, could I house the boat? I said, what is it, he says, a chapel. I’m like, what kind of boat — it’s a Chapel," said Gary Foco.
The captain of the floating chapel wanted a place to sleep, so Foco told workers to help him out.
"How are we going to dock this?" said Gregg Flowers.
Flowers was ready for the challenge, but he never handled anything like this before; it took about 10 minutes to dock the chapel before they could relax again.
"It was the size of our fuel dock, took up the whole length, and it was literally a chapel on water," Flowers said.
This isn't your average chapel. It was fully furnished to feel like a home. Inside, you could see it was equipped with a living room, a large TV and even a refrigerator.
"I wish I would’ve went over there and took some pictures. I want to check it out. I want to see how it was looking in there," said Eddie Tajada.
Foco said he may never see anything like that again, but as long as it can float, they will be ready.
"We will make room. I don’t think I've turned down too many things," Foco said.
