A man was arrested after a welfare check led to the discovery of more than 250 grams of marijuana, 75 grams of cocaine, a large amount of pills and over $1,000 in cash.
On Friday just after 3:30 a.m. Punta Gord police responded to the Mobile station located at 3139 Tamiami Trail for reports of an individual who was found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle.
Officers identified the driver as Christopher Francoise of Sarastoa.
Police say Francoise started to move before grabbing items from the car while exiting and then attempting to conceal them.
Francoise reportedly also resisted an officer's attempt to detain him.
Francoise was arrested after further investigations.
