A new elementary school in Fort Myers has a space with services the whole community can utilize.
Among all the new features at Franklin Park Elementary School, there's a dedicated space for the United Way Community Partnership Schools program. It includes a food pantry, a school supply and clothing closet, offices for a mental health provider and a new pediatric health clinic that'll be staffed by Lee Health.
"We worked really hard to survey our parents as well as the community to see what was needed on campus. We took that information, and we implemented those programs," said Angela Jackson of United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades counties.
The clinic will provide health services for students and the surrounding community and will even be open outside of school hours.
