Convicted double-murderer Wade Wilson was back in court on Monday after being denied a retrial last week.
Kristine Melton, 35, and Diane Ruiz, 43, were strangled to death as part of a cross-county crime spree. In addition to the two first-degree murder charges, Wilson was convicted of grand theft, battery, burglary and petit theft.
According to court documents, a neurologist believes that Wilson may have suffered brain damage from previous injuries and requires more testing.
The judge granted the order for an MRI and CT scans for testing and transport for Wilson, as long as proper security measures are taken.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office says they are able to provide adequate security measures.
Reports say the prescribed tests are necessary for the neurologist to make an informed diagnosis.
His sentencing is still scheduled for Aug. 27.
Count on NBC2 to be inside the courtroom when Wilson is sentenced.
