Two things are being voted on by the Cape Coral City Council on Wednesday.
An agreement on who will handle the construction and an agreement on who will run food services at Jaycee Park.
This is a part of the final concept which now sits at a whopping $16 to $18 million.
Jaycee Park is a neighborhood park where people have come to walk and enjoy the view for years.
"Well, just look at it. It's a beautiful, a beautiful place. And, you know. Right," Cape Coral resident Jim Rose said.
For the past five years, Rose and his friend have gotten together almost every Tuesday to catch up with each other at Jaycee Park.
"If the park's not broken, don't fix it," Rose said.
Changes to the park include cutting down the invasive Australian Pine trees and planting new ones, a splash pad, a proposed bar, a bandshell, along with space for several food trucks.
Another big change, The Reef, which will be a walk up snack service. All of which City Council will address the wants of younger families who live in Cape Coral.
"I'm a senior citizen, and they're talking about the average age being much younger than myself. My question is, what is the average age of district one?" Cape Coral resident Scott Kemp said.
You may recognize Scott Kemp who Cape Coral police escorted out of Jaycee Park after protesting against the city for their stance on the park.
NBC2 asked Kemp what he is hopeful for ahead of Wednesday's meeting.
"I'm not hopeful, unfortunately. And I've just learned this over a year and a half that the city is absolutely not paying attention," Kemp said.
