Shanice and Varaka Stewart are accused of violating their pretrial release conditions.
The duo is accused of meeting up on Aug. 18 at a location along Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard for about two hours.
The Stewarts are not supposed to have any communication with each other.
Shanice and Varaka Stewart are codefendants in an intimidation case, where they are accused of threatening the family of Thomas Stein.
Stein is one of the teens charged with the murder of Kayla Rincon-Miller; the other is Christopher Horne Jr. Shanice and Varaka Stewart are the mother and aunt of Horne Jr., respectively.
The timing of the Stewarts' meetup is interesting; it was one day before the scheduled motions hearing to gain access to Varaka's cellphone password, according to documents.
Court documents say the Cape Coral Police Department has had Varaka's phone since June 5, but it has not been able to access it due to her password protection.
The judge ultimately granted the state's motion, but CCPD says it still does not have any updates to the case, even after being able to access her phone.
The state attorney's office would not say how they knew the Stewarts met up on Aug. 18, or why.
On Wednesday, Shanice and Varaka Stewart were released from jail around 1:30 p.m.
