Firefighters saved a dog stuck under a home during a fire in Alva Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District, the owner of the home on Tuckahoe Road told crews their dog, Scooter, went missing during the fire.
At 3:38 p.m., firefighters couldn't find the dog inside the home, but later located him trapped in a space beneath the residence.
Fire crews used shovels and their hands to safely dig Scooter out of the muddy area. There were no reported injuries.
