Calling all pickleball and tennis players! The Lake Kennedy Racquet Center is gearing up to open, and it’s packed with a lot of features.
You’ll soon be able to hit the courts with 32 pickleball courts and 12 tennis courts ready to go.
But that’s not all—the new facility will also have food, snacks, comfy places to chill between games, tournaments and even some cool social events!
There’s been a lot of buzz about the membership fees over the last few months. Some locals aren’t happy with the following prices set by the city back in May.
- Annual Memberships: Individual at $250
- Household Couple at $350
- Household Family at $500
- Junior at $100
- Semi-Annual Memberships: Individual at $125
- Household Couple at $175
- Household Family at $250
- Monthly Memberships: Individual at $25
- Household Couple at $35
- Household Family at $50
Non-Cape Coral residents will be subject to initiation fees: $100 for annual memberships, and $50 for semi-annual and monthly memberships.
The city is offering a 50 percent discount for signing up for the next two months, after that the prices will revert to the options above.
The general manager told NBC2 that an advisory committee will be established to hear and implement what the community wants.
The new center will officially open tomorrow, Aug. 28, at 7 a.m. Staff will be available for on-site registration.
