Cape Coral police arrested a man after DNA results linked him to a sexual battery investigation from April.
On April 28, a victim reported to police that he had visited Brian Howard, 46, at his home in Cape Coral.
The victim told police he fell asleep at his home before being woke up by Howard sexually battering him.
Howard was interviewed by police and reportedly denied the allegations. Officers say as a part of the investigation, the victim submitted to a sexual assault examination, and the DNA of Howard was collected.
On August 15, the results of the DNA analysis from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirmed Howard as a suspect in the case.
Howard was arrested and is facing one count of sexual battery.
