After seeing a Facebook post Thursday morning, NBC2 went to the roundabout on Beth Stacey Boulevard and Ridgecrest Street to see hundreds of screws scattered around the road.
Others noticed it as well.
"Two days ago, my babysitter also had that same issue where she got a flat tire in the same circle," said Luz Cales.
Residents say these screws have been there for at least two days.
NBC2 crews decided to drive to the neighborhood of the person who was calling for help on Facebook.
Cales offered more information.
"I took out of my lunchtime, and I came here to pick it up because you know I can do a good deed, but if we are all going to talk about it, then we need to be about it," Cales said.
She didn't want people to deal with flat tires because replacing them isn't cheap.
"It doesn’t matter who’s going to look at me, who’s going to see me in any type of way, I’m going to get out, and I’m going to just start cleaning it," Cales said.
After she finished cleaning up, Lee County DOT finished up the job and thanked her for being a good neighbor.
"I’m not like a superhero or anything, but if I can, if I see something going on and I can help, I can take my time out," Cales said.
