Detectives are searching for a Fort Myers man who is wanted for violating probation after an arrest for luring a 14-year-old for sex.
Detectives say a new warrant for Chance Butner's, 30, arrest was issued last week after he reportedly violated probation following charges of traveling to meet a minor and using a computer to lure a child.
After several inappropriate text messages with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, Butner made plans for a sexual encounter, according to reports.
When Butner got to the Cape Coral home, he said he had to get something from his car before running away.
Officers were on the spot and were able to arrest him. He was found guilty and sent to prison for a year and a half before being placed on probation, which detectives say he has violated.
Butner has four priors for battery, resisting, drugs and public order crimes.
Records say he is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds, with a tattoo of the phrases "Blessed" and "Mercy" on his right arm, and a shield of faith on his left arm.
