A woman was injured in a two-vessel incident near the Midpoint Bridge Friday afternoon.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, preliminary information indicated that the two boats traveled in opposite directions on the Caloosahatchee River.
The two vessels were traveling during a period of inclement weather. An approximately 24-foot center console boat, with two people aboard, crossed the wake of another vessel, injuring a woman on board, FWC said.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
FWC officials said this is an active incident and will provide updates when possible.
