The Naples Fire and Rescue Department says two people were injured after a lightning strike at the Naples Pier late Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters say the strike happened with people in the water. One person was transported by ambulance, and another was taken in a personal vehicle.
According to the Naples Police Department, the lightning strike victims were a 42-year-old man and a 24-year-old man.
The 42-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.
NPD said the 24-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
The strike happened around 5 p.m., and the pier was closed for the remainder of the evening.
