Three teenagers were caught in a rip current but were pulled back to shore by bystanders on Sanibel, Sanibel Fire & Rescue District officials said.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the incident happened near the Lighthouse Beach Park on the Gulf side around 3 p.m.
Sanibel Fire said all three teens were on the shore when crews arrived. They were evaluated by Lee County Emergency Medical Services. One was transported to the hospital for further evaluation, according to Sanibel Fire.
