Fort Myers firefighters responded to a fire that sparked inside a home under construction on Brookhill Drive.
According to the Fort Myers Fire Department, it was difficult for firefighters to find the fire at the house. NBC2 crews at the scene could see smoke coming from the home's kitchen area.
FMFD said the house caught on fire due to work taking place on the home's exterior that progressed to the interior.
The fire was extinguished. Crews were able to get on the scene and keep the fire to one wall inside the kitchen.
According to fire officials, no one was injured and no families will have to be displaced.
However, there will be some kitchen work and replacement of appliances, FMFD said.
